Jane D. Moynihan's Obituary
Jane Moynihan (nee: Caudle),88, of Maple Shade, New Jersey and Philadelphia, PA beloved wife for 33 years to the late Thomas J. Moynihan, Sr. Loving daughter of the late Herman and late Lourinda Caudle. Predeceased by her wonderful sisters baby Mildred Caudle, Joan Fiorino, Patricia Duffin and Jean Callahan. Caring and loving mother to the late Thomas J. Moynihan, Jr (Patricia), Francis (Candice), Michael (Suzanne), and Daniel (Nicole). Grandmother to Megan, Gregory, Catherine, Mary, Sarah, Abigail, Sean, and Brianna. Great grandmother to Charlotte, Aidan, Iain, Fiona, Callum, James and Everett. Additionally, survived by several nieces and nephews and many friends.
After a short illness, Jane passed away quietly surrounded by family. A fervent supporter of her family, a common sight was Jane enthusiastically cheering on her loving grandchildren at dance and musical recitals, sporting events and various theater and school productions throughout the years. After the passing of her husband, Jane enjoyed travel with her remaining sister, Jean. They frequently traveled to New York as they embraced their growing passion for Broadway productions. Jane and Jean also traveled to Europe visiting family and several countries. While enjoying sights outside the country, Jane was happiest close to home in Cape May, NJ. Jane loved the ocean and enjoyed being in the salt air as frequently as she could. Throughout the years, Jane and Jean would patronize virtually every seafood restaurant in Cape May County. So frequently would they visit that several local restaurants recognized Jean and Jane by sight. Unable to sit still, Jane enjoyed driving and dining at local restaurants as an easier alternative to her longer trips.
In earlier years, Jane was always willing to try something new. Demonstrating her artistic abilities Jane enjoyed ceramics, needlepoint, knitting, and crochet. In more recent years, after successfully battling breast cancer, a knee replacement and the relentless advance of age Jane began to limit her travel and shore trips. To keep her mind sharp, Jane was not afraid to try new activities becoming a frequent “texter,” world wide web crawler, and Facebook fan. As well as her favorite, Sudoku.
A gathering of family and friends will be held this Thursday, March 16th from 9:45 to 10:45 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church 236 E. Main Street Maple Shade, NJ 08052. Jane’s Funeral Mass will follow 11 a.m.
Burial will take place at Magnolia Cemetery, 4500 Levick Street in Philadelphia, PA.
