Janet Manns' Obituary
Janet Geneva Manns (Mariano) lovingly known as “Sissy” was born on December 10, 1936 in Newark, NJ to the late Willie and Elizabeth Manns.
Janet was blessed with a large and loving family. She was known for her artistic floral arrangements for all of her family which fill their homes to this day. Janet lived for sneaking off to the casino in the hopes of winning “BIG”. Sissy was a mother, grandmother figure to many that came into her life. She had a smile that would light up any room and a laugh that was so contagious you couldn’t help but join in. She wasn’t shy about speaking her mind. Good or bad with every message there was a catchy phrase with the point she HAD to make. Sissy’s life was lived to the fullest making memories that simply can not be forgotten. She will be missed tremendously by her family and extended family.
Preceding in death, her husband, Nathaniel “George” Mariano; her siblings Debra Manns; Jean Camp; Irene Armstrong; Violet Slade; William Manns and Willie Manns; son Thomas Manns; grandchildren Fanigmy Williams, Tarence Burks, Kasein Stokes and Kameisha Manns Hamilton.
Janet is survived by her daughter, Rosolyn Manns, sons, Whit Manns, Kevin Manns, daughter-in-law Chimene; Nathaniel George Mariano, Jr.; Dwaine Mariano, daughter-in-law Paula; Maurice Mariano, daughter-in-law Fateisha; Darryl Mariano; 30 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren;two great-great-grandchildren as well as an abundance of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
