Jason Matthew Rowan's Obituary
Jason Matthew Rowan will be remembered as a beloved father, son, brother, husband, and friend, who, surrounded by his family and friends, joined his Savior, Jesus Christ, on May 30, 2026, at the age of 43, leaving behind memories that will be cherished by all who knew him.
Jay displayed unimaginable strength and endurance as he battled MS and ALS. He worked at Bancroft NeuroHealth as a Facilities Technician Manager. He loved working with his hands and creating new ways not just to fix a problem, but to improve it. He always challenged himself to give the children of Bancroft exceptional opportunities. We called him “MacGyver” because he could create amazing things that worked and lasted. Yes, sometimes with gum and duct tape! He was skilled and determined, meeting obstacles with precision and an attitude of “no fear”.
Outside of work, Jay loved playing video games, skateboarding, fishing, and making memories with those he loved most. He was deeply devoted to his daughter, Soraya, whom he always lovingly called Princess.
Jason will be heartfully remembered and sorrowfully missed by his wife, Tara.
He will be forever held by his mother, Paula.
Jay lived a life defined by love, dedication, hard work, and an innate need to treat people fairly. His memory will live on in the countless lives he touched, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Jay is also survived by his sister Amy (Marty), brother Bill (Lauren), brother Chris (Maggie), stepfather Steve, stepsister Randi (Justin), stepdaughters Morgan and Madelynn, and brother-in-law Ryan. Jay will also be remembered by his father, Bill, and stepmother, Gloria; his father-in-law, Scott; mother-in-law, Denise; and sister-in-law, Kelly (Kelsey). Many aunts and uncles, as well as nieces and nephews.
Jay will be sorely missed by his devoted friends, Dave Chupp, “G” Genadij Grisczenkow, and Allen Waring.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 14, 2026, from 11:00 am. to 5:00 pm., at the home of his parents: 73 8th Street, Marlton, NJ 08053, where family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, honor Jay’s legacy, and support one another during this difficult time.
Jay will be remembered with love, admiration, and gratitude by all whose lives were enriched by knowing him.
