Jean Rita Carter's Obituary
Jean Rita Carter, of Mount Laurel, passed away on October 24, 2015. She was 58 years old.
A graduate of Rowan University, Jeannie was a dedicated Elementary Special Education teacher, who cared deeply about her students. Her passion and commitment was to instill in every child a greater sense of self-worth and confidence. Jeannie was an avid reader, talented gardener and a wonderful cook. Jeannie offered an artistic and creative touch to all that she did. In her free time, Jeannie enjoyed the beach and volunteering at local animal shelters, working with abused dogs.
Jeannie is the beloved daughter of Rita A. Carter and the late Bartlett S. Carter. Loving mother of Christopher Vincent Carter (Rebecca Lynn Dierkes). Dear grandmother of Christopher Bartlett Carter. Loving sister of Helen Mary Carter-Costa, Deborah A. Carter-Bruvik (Peter), and Bartlett Carter (Cheryl). Sister-in-law of Dr. Richard Costa. Niece of Vincent Micciche and Peter Micciche (Gloria). Loving aunt to Athena Rita Kokoronis (Jack Haskell), Richard Charles Costa, Jr. (Jillian Hickey), Philip Bartlett Costa, Benjamin Tyler Bruvik, Peter Arthur Bruvik and Maxwell Walter Burt. Great aunt of Harriet Kinoko Haskell Kokoronis.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Jeannie’s life celebration gathering at St. Charles Borromeo Church, Branch Pike and Pomona Rd., Cinnaminson, on Saturday, October 31st, the viewing is from 9 am – 10:20 am. Her Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 am. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jeannie’s name may be made to the Animal Welfare Association in Voorhees, www.awanj.org, or to the Voorhees Animal Orphanage, www.vaonj.org.
