Jean Veronica Dusheck's Obituary
Jean Veronica Dusheck (Bunk), of Cinnaminson, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2021. Born in West Hazelton, PA to the late Stanley and Veronica Masyado Bunk, she was 86 years old.
Jean was the beloved wife of 56 years to the late George J. Dusheck, Jr.; loving mother of Sharon McVaugh and her husband Michael; cherished Nana of Mary, Ann Tricocci (Eric), Rose, and Albert; dear sister of Gertrude Mehalshick. Jean was predeceased by her siblings, Joseph Bunk, Caroline Pearson, and Louis Bunk.
In the early years of marriage, Jean worked in a factory while her husband George completed his education and started his career at RCA in Camden, NJ. Jean was a supportive wife and helped George succeed at school and at home. Whether it was helping George put on a roof at their home in Cinnaminson or helping him study for his college exams she was always by his side.
While her daughter Sharon was in school, Jean volunteered as a room mother and taught CCD at Sacred Heart Church in Riverton where George and Jean were parishioners since 1960. Jean was active in the community and was a member of the Cinnaminson School Board for over 10 years. Her volunteer work included advocating for the Cinnaminson music program, especially the high school marching band. She spent many hours fundraising so that the band could purchase new uniforms in 1980. She also chaperoned many band trips to make sure there were no shenanigans taking place on the bus, earning her the nickname Sergeant Dusheck. Jean was one of the founding members of the Carter Arts foundation which was instrumental in restoring the pipe organ at the Cinnaminson High School.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, December 9th, at Sacred Heart R.C. Church, 4th St. and Linden Ave., Riverton, from 10 – 11 am. A funeral Mass will begin at 11 am, followed by entombment in Lakeview Memorial Park, Mausoleum by the Lake. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jean’s name may be made to the Animal Welfare Organization of Voorhees, www.awanj.org. To share your fondest memories and condolences, please visit www.Givnish.com.
