Heaven has certainly gained a loyal angel! We feel honored to have known Joan ( and Jim) through Marriage Encounter. What shining examples they have been in living out their sacrament of marriage. My favorite memory is when we celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in an intimate setting at Jewel’s Cafe.
Joan has been a dear friend and mentor for me ...... guiding me through the years of dealing with my mother’s Alzheimer disease. What a great listener and counselor she was! I will miss those long phone calls we had catching up after her return to New Jersey.
I know I am a better person,mother and grandmother because of her. What a gem!
Jim and I are deeply sorry for your family’s loss but are confident she has been “ promoted” to eternal life !
Dan, Ron and Mariellen, I am so sorry for your loss. Your mother was a lovely lady. I treasure all the music we shared with the folk group at OLGC, and think of her whenever I hear the songs we sang together. She is certainly making even more beautiful music now, in a much better place. You, your Dad and all the family have my love and prayers.

Joan and Jim were the first friends my husband Jim and I made when we moved into Shipwatch in Largo Florida in 2002. They were both such kind and welcoming folks, and my husband and I admired the way they lived and loved each other. Most weekends we'd make a stop by their home because they always would bring out a bowl of water for our dog Max.
We enjoyed knowing them and hearing their stories and were sorry to see them move back north, but glad they'd be close to their kids and family. After they moved, I stayed in touch a bit via Facebook, and in recent months, saw only updates from Daniel. We really missed Joan and Jim!
Joan and Jim remain in my thoughts and prayers!
