Joan Miller's Obituary
Joan Miller, 93, of Mount Laurel, NJ, passed away peacefully on November 8th, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Philadelphia on September 26, 1932, to the late Frank and Anne Lineker, Joan grew up in Southwest Philadelphia on Geyer Avenue and graduated from Bartram High School. She met the love of her life, George “Birdie” Miller, at a dance while he was attending West Catholic. They shared many wonderful years together until his passing in 1995.
Joan was the devoted mother of George Miller (Sandi) and Colleen Clements (John); and the proud Mom-Mom of Meghan (Evan), Jack, Taylor, and Jake. She was predeceased by all of her siblings—Doris, Jean, and Eileen—and her beloved Aunt Dorothy. She will be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Joan loved to dance and travel, especially on cruises, and was always up for an adventure. She took pride in keeping a beautiful and tidy home, was deeply involved in St. Peter’s Merchantville athletics, and was a loyal friend to many. Joan had a knack for worrying about everyone but herself—always putting others first. She was known for her impeccable style, her popped collar, and her determination to look her best no matter where she was going. Joan enjoyed spending summers at Meadowbrook Swim Club as well as vacationing at the jersey shore with her sister and girlfriends. She was an avid reader and enjoyed listening to music.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, November 17th, 2025, from 9am - 10am at Givnish of Maple Shade, 600 E. Main Street, Maple Shade, NJ. A memorial prayer service will begin at 10am. Urn burial will follow at Beverly National Cemetery, where Joan will be reunited with her husband, George.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Joan’s memory may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project (www.woundedwarriorproject.org) or St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children (towerhealth.org/locations/st-christophers-hospital-children).
