Joann M. Walker's Obituary
Joann M. Walker (nee Breakfield), of Mount Holly, formerly of Delran, NJ, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2024. Born in Englewood, NJ to the late William and Victoria (nee DeRespiris) Breakfield, she was 76 years old.
Joann was the beloved wife of Robert J. Walker; loving mother of Brian Walker (Melissa) and Jeff Walker (Melissa); cherished Grandma of Tyler Herman, J.J. Walker, Kaiden Walker, Brielle Walker, and Mia Walker; dear sister of Kathy Maguire (Richard), Theresa Foley (Robert), William Breakfield (Michelle), and the late David Breakfield; sister-in-law of Michael Walker (Jacqueline) and William Walker (Susan); loving aunt of Matthew, Danielle, Anthony, Michael, Lauren, Alex, Mark, Christina, and Nicole. Many extended family members and friends will miss her greatly.
Joann worked for Moorestown Dermatology for 25 years. If you needed an appointment, Joann was the one to call. She loved being a mom and grandma, spending two weeks each summer in Lavalette, NJ, first with her own family of four, which then expanded over the years to include her two daughters-in-law and then five grandchildren, continuing through this year with everyone in the same house for the last 20 years. As the grandchildren grew, the normal routine was for grandma to walk with them to the bakery to get breakfast to bring back to the house for everyone, then spend the day at the beach. After dinner, it was a walk to the Music Man, with ice cream for everyone. Grandma never missed a birthday party and the entire family was together every holiday. Grandma was sometimes the loudest spectator at all their sporting events, when her boys and later grandchildren played, whether it was football, baseball, basketball, lacrosse, field hockey or soccer. Family was her greatest joy.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at Givnish of Cinnaminson, 1200 Route 130 North, on Friday, January 3rd from 9 to 10:30 am. A service will begin at 10:30 am. Interment will be private for the family.
