Joanne Louise Davis' Obituary
Joanne Louise Davis (nee Swank), 94, of Mount Laurel, NJ, formerly of Cinnaminson, NJ, went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 12, 2023. Loving wife to the late Robert D. Davis. Dear mother to her daughter, Nancy, son, Joe and his wife Jennifer. Devoted Nana/Nini to her grandchildren: Frank, Gemma, Isabella and Dietrich. Beloved sister to the late Joe Swank.
Nicknamed the “Blue Bird”, Joanne will be dearly missed by many friends. Joanne worked as a Registered Nurse before becoming a mother and homemaker. Later in her life, Joanne spent most of her time volunteering. She was very dedicated to Calvary Presbyterian Church in Riverton, NJ. Her service included vacation bible school, church prayer groups, a leader of the Lydia Circle, the church thrift shop and the annual “Treasure” day. She was also involved in the Triboro Women’s Club and the Welcome Wagon Club. She enjoyed participating in water aerobics at the Moorestown Community Center for many years. Joanne knitted an impressive 170 prayer shawls for many dear friends and family members. In 1944, two days before his 19th birthday, Joanne’s brother Joe, was tragically killed in the Philippines when his ship was torpedoed during WWII.
Friends may call at Calvary Presbyterian Church, 300 4th St., Riverton on Saturday, April 1, 2023 from 10:30 to 11:30 AM. A memorial service will follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Joanne’s name may be made to Calvary Presbyterian Church, Riverton, NJ.
