Johanna "Joanie" F. Nece's Obituary
Johanna “Joanie” Nece (nee Lubonski), 82, of Sewell, NJ, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2022. Dear wife to the late Joseph Nece Sr. Devoted mother to Joseph Nece Jr. (Cheyenne), Lawrence Nece, (Teresa), Edward Nece (Sue), John Nece (Joyce) and Kellyanne Clark (Lee). Joanie leaves behind six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Joanie was raised by her late Aunt Florence Dawson, and late Uncle Ike Dawson in Pleasantville, NJ along with her late sister Florence Mazza and her cousins Edward Dawson, William Dawson, and Janet Dawson.
Joanie loved her “crafts”, with one room in every home that she owned dedicated as her “Craft Room”. She was an avid Phillies and Tiger Woods fan. She spent endless days watching her kids play ball games and always volunteered supporting the youth sports programs. She loved camping which she enjoyed for most of her life and spent many summers at Hospitality Creek Campground and Little Oaks Campground in south Jersey. She loved to sing and dance which she often did singing to the memory care residents where she lived out her final two years at The Landing of Washington Square in Sewell. She said they made her feel like a celebrity. “You are my sunshine” was her favorite song to sing.
Joanie spent the last three years courageously battling lung cancer. She leaves behind many loving friends and caregivers from The Landing of Washington Square who were instrumental in her battle with this disease.
Services for Johanna will be held privately for the family.
