John Henry Breuer's Obituary
John Henry Breuer of Moorestown, NJ, and formerly a 42-year resident of Cinnaminson, NJ, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2024, after a long illness. Born in the Riverside Park section of Delran, NJ, on September 12, 1943, to John William Breuer and Karolina Breuer (nee Pinder), he was a devoted husband for nearly 45 years to Harriet Hubbard, a dear father to Lindsey Breuer-Barnes (Alan), and a beloved Grandpop to Charlotte. John was a brother to William (Jane), Eleanor (Louis), and Kathleen (Hugh), and was predeceased by his siblings Harry, Frank, and Caroline “Sis.” He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, friends, and his cherished cats, Stormy and Cloudy.
John attended Riverside High School, where he played basketball and football. He earned his bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, where he met his loving wife, Harriet. They moved to Cinnaminson, NJ, to raise their family. John worked for many years at the Philadelphia Naval Ship Yard, retiring in 2016. Even after retirement, he frequently visited his former colleagues at the office. John had a passion for building and flying model airplanes, winning numerous trophies. He was often found building new woodworking projects, fixing household items, and tending to his cars and garden. He was also known for following his daughter’s marching band career from Cinnaminson to Princeton University. And he relished “comparative grocery shopping,” involving his custom-made coupon sorter and multiple store ads. Most of all, he will be remembered for his deep love for his family.
A gathering of friends and family will be held on Friday, August 2, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, with his funeral service beginning at 12:00 pm. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park in Cinnaminson. Donations in John’s name may be made to the Animal Welfare Association at https://www.awanj.org/
