John N. Carides' Obituary
John N. Carides of Cinnaminson, NJ, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2023. Born in New York City to the late George and Bessie Carides, he was 89 years old. He was a resident of Cinnaminson, NJ from 1973 to 2022.
John received his Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from LaSalle University.
He was employed as an electrical engineer for RCA for 32 years, and retired in 1991 from GE.
After his retirement, John and Diane enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, and particularly enjoyed visiting the National Parks. Most importantly, John loved spending time with his family, whether gathering for holidays and birthdays, attending his grandchildren's sporting events and activities, or using his handyman skills for auto, appliance and home repairs, while sharing his wisdom and good advice along the way. John had a huge heart, a warm laugh, and was loved by all.
John was the beloved husband of the late Diane F. Carides (nee Gonsalves); loving father of Debra Lewis (Scott), Carol Carides, Nicholas Carides (Nancy), and James Carides (Annemarie); cherished grandfather of Lauren Edge (Chris), Justin Lewis (Caitlin), Tara Yates (Jon), Jason Lewis (Amanda), Jonathan Brennan (Kim), Heather Brennan, Michael Brennan, Kelly Brennan, John Carides (Kaitlyn), Nicole Prager (Max), Colleen Carides, Jennifer Ewing, Lisa Goodson (Gabe), and Michael Carides (Cate); and dear Papu of Ayla, Liam, Mitchell, Lachlan, Cooper, Kellan, Kane, Bodhi, Ryan, Riley, Ava, Cole, Elise, and Bennett.
John was the loving brother of Rena, and was predeceased by his siblings, Peter, Theodore, James, Ann, Georgia, Mary, Helen, and his grandson, Jeffrey James Brennan.
John was a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews, and is survived by many other extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at Givnish of Cinnaminson, 1200 Route 130 North, on Friday, September 8th, from 10 am to 11:30 am. A service will begin at 11:30 am, followed by interment in Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson. In lieu of flowers, donations in John’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org) or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org).
