John Clements' Obituary
John L. Clements, Jr. (?Mr. John?) of Manahawkin, formerly of Cinnaminson, NJ, passed peacefully on November 20, 2012. Born in Camden in 1923, John attended Woodrow Wilson High School, where he met the love of his life, Mary ?Honey?. He enlisted in the Navy right out of high school, where he went on to serve for 4 years, including taking part in the D-Day invasion of Normandy Beach. Shortly after his discharge in 1946, he married his high school sweetheart and went to work at the New York Shipyard as a foreman. Not too long after that, he changed careers and became a beautician. He opened his own salon on Main St. in Moorestown, Mr. John?s Hairstyling in 1961 where he continued to work until 2001 when he turned the business over to his son.
John and Mary moved to Cinnaminson in 1960 to raise their family, and they made lifelong and cherished friends there. He was a member of the St. Charles Holy Name Society, Sons of Italy, and an original member of the St. Charles Building Committee. After his sons were grown, he and Mary built their new home on the water in Manahawkin, where they enjoyed spending time with family and friends. The real party didn?t start until he broke out the music and microphone and started singing. Always the life of the party.
Predeceased by his loving wife Mary ?Honey? of 65 years and many brothers and sisters. John leaves behind his sons John III (Lisa) of Washington Twp., Timothy (Cheryl) of Cinnaminson and Paul (Anne) of Marlton; his grandchildren Carli, Paul Jr., Joseph, Lindsay and Timothy Jr. Also his lone surviving sister, Dorothy Pelletier along with many nieces and nephews.
