John was my boss at BASF in the mid 90s. He was a mentor to me even helping to guide me in bettering my career. He loved his family and spoke daily of Helen and his girls. As you mentioned in your eulogy, at a work softball game, John injured his knee and as a result, he had surgery and was out of work for months. Almost every day I brought him his mail and work to his living room because he would never let that stop progress at work. He was dedicated. More recently he would often comment on my social media paying me compliments about our working together so many years ago. Thank you John for all that you taught me in my late 20s...so many years ago. Hugs to all of you.
Dear Helen and Family, I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with John at BASF. He was such a wonderful man. I remember one day at work the Dr called and told me it was official I was going to have a girl. I was so excited. I wanted to tell somebody and John was the only one in the office at lunch. We were so shocked to hear of John’s passing today. We remember him very well with fondness. Our few years of friendship with you both during the GE years were so memorable, so fun. John was a great guy, and I know you have many loving memories of him to help you through your grief. We’re so sorry John suffered through the years - he didn’t deserve that. I was saddened to hear of John’s death. I offer you my sincere sympathy. I pray that the many wonderful memories that you have of you husband and father will ease your loss. We had many fun times together in Long Valley. I especially remember the party when we all dressed in togas and surprised Susan and Peter at their Greek party! We found lots of reasons to celebrate and party back then. Your father was a kind and gentle man.
