My entire family mourns a beautiful person called away much too soon......my dear "Uncle" from FB...he inspired me to stay in school and continue my education. I will always be grateful that my life was blessed with such an Earth Angel. And he was the only one i would actually listen to, when i did not want to listen to anybody, lol, and he would always joke with me about me giving my dad "stink eye", lol! ....and he was the only one i took "guff" from!! We will always remember his great love for cats, and for all animals. A voice of love and peace who will never be forgotten. Precious memories will live forever....from the LaPorte, Truman and Gaughn families #RIP #LOVEISETERNAL

I remember him from Sunday’s for Classical Music at Friendly’s. He was always so kind and funny and just a really great man. I only knew him from Facebook, but I feel like I lost a good friend.

Will miss his loving words from his heart on many FB cat sites. He truly was a special person and his love for animals will live in us all. Rest in peace Mr. Fitzgerald from another Fitzgerald. Prayers for the family.

I only knew John from my Facebook page. He left such loving comments nearly every day on my pet page posts. His favorite cats of mine were Daisy Mae and angel Snowball. John had expressed to me he wished he had been able to meet my cat Snowball. Perhaps they have finally met in heaven where both most surely reside. John and I had also exchanged phone numbers and we would occasionally call or text. He will be greatly missed by me and so many in the pet community on Facebook. Enjoy your new wings John. I will always miss you.

I always looked forward to John's remarks on Gato Jr's Facebook posts. He will be so missed. It is so wonderful to share a love of animals, especially cats with someone so passionate. 🙏😽❤️
My dog Tinsygirl has a FB page and she called him Uncle John and he was always so sweet and they talked about life together and we had him on her prayer list for the last few months and our hearts are sadden by his passing. We will miss his loving soul and humor. He reminded me of my dad sometimes with his words. Tinsy says Lubs you Uncle John and I see you one day in heaven.
Carmen and Tinsygirl.
