John Edward Garwood's Obituary
John E. Garwood, 86, of Willingboro, NJ, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2020 with his family by his side. Loving husband to Mary Garwood (nee Saroka) for 54 years. Dear father to Kathleen Garwood and Steven Garwood (wife Jill Goldstein).
John, also known as Jack, was born in Florence to Samuel Garwood and Mary Weber. He was a graduate of Florence High School class of 1950.
John was a musician who was skilled in playing many instruments including the saxophone which was his main instrument, clarinet, flute, bass guitar, and guitar. He shared his love of music by teaching to many students. He played at Studio Music and in several other small quartets/bands. He was a lead saxophonist (nicknamed “Spanky”) and often conductor with the Benny Snyder Orchestra.
John’s career was with the United States Postal Service with many different positions from carrier to postage due clerk and from which he retired after over 30 plus years of service.
His other interests included health, nutrition, and holistic topics. He was an avid reader.
Due to current circumstances, services for John will be held privately by the family. His services will be streamed on John’s Tribute page at 12pm.
