John W. Kerrigan's Obituary
KERRIGAN, John W. (Jake), passed away on December 15, 2016 at the age of 98 and is now happily re-united in heaven with his wife Marion and his daughter Janis. He was a proud member of the Greatest Generation͟, fighting for his country in Europe, during WW II and earning a Silver Star and a Purple Heart as a member of the United States Army. John was a resident of the
Philadelphia and Delran communities for 95 years before moving to his son’s home in Florida, in 2014. He had tirelessly given his time in service to numerous Catholic Charities, especially Emergency Services in Delanco after retiring, and was actively involved in the VFW many years.
He was a lover of animals and enjoyed caring for them. John was a devoted family man, and will be missed by his surviving family members, his son Jack, daughter-in-law Carolyn, grandchildren Kelly Berry (David Berry) and Shannon Kerrigan and his great-grandchildren Hunter Kerrigan, David and Ashleigh Berry. Friends are invited to attend a celebration of John’s life on Wednesday, December 21st from 9:45-10:15AM at Givnish Funeral Home of Cinnaminson, 1200 Route 130 North, followed immediately by interment, at Lakeview Memorial Park.
