John M. Ostrowski's Obituary
John Ostrowski was a beloved husband, father, and friend. John passed away peacefully at home on February 14, 2022 after a courageous battle with Glioblastoma Multiforme. John was born in Bayonne, NJ. In his early days, John was an avid dog handler and racer of homing pigeons. John also loved spending time in NYC and enjoyed sailing and fishing on Barnegat Bay. John also worked in the casinos, dealing craps.
John earned his Accounting degree at Saint Peter’s University and spent years doing financial audits, accounting work, and working as the Township Administrator in Cinnaminson, NJ until his retirement in 2008.
John was a fun-loving, patient, and handy man who loved cooking and grilling, doing yardwork, spending time out in the sun in the pool or at the beach, and playing bocce. In addition to those things, John loved spending time with family, and taking care of the ones that he loved most. John was extremely generous and selfless; he always went above and beyond to ensure that everybody had what they needed. He enjoyed a good game of Yahtzee, playing card games, and having red wine with ice or a nice Jameson and ginger.
Even when battling Glioblastoma, John always maintained a positive attitude. John was always smiling, laughing, or making his family laugh by saying random and hilarious things. Despite Glioblastoma being a devastating disease, John made the best of every day, both good and bad.
John was survived by his wife and best friend, Leslie and his two daughters, Sara (Nicholos) and Joana. From a previous marriage, John has a son, Mark and a granddaughter, Martina.
