John J. Pedin's Obituary
John Pedin, 93, died on December 21, 2019 at at Southern Ocean Center in Manahawkin, NJ. He was born in New York City on December 20, 1926, to Kristina Hujo and John Peodinczuk. He grew up in New York City and attended the High School of Music and Art.
After graduating high school, John went on to become a renown photographer for NY Daily News. He photographed many famous celebrities such as the Beatles, Frank Sinatra, Marilyn Monroe, Muhammad Ali, Malcolm X, Donald Trump, and so on.
John loved his wife Bridie Pedin, whom he met at a ballroom dance. The two of them spent the majority of their lives in Old Tappan, NJ. This is where they raised their children John Pedin, Mark Pedin, Noreen Palmay, and Deirdre Christiano. During the last 15 years of John’s life, he and his wife Bridie resided in Waretown, NJ.
John enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, like sitting in the sunshine, sipping on a glass of Merlot, and telling fascinating stories about his career. He loved fixing things around the house while listening to classical music. Although he was simple at heart, he had an expensive palate. John was notorious for leaving brutally honest feedback about other people’s substandard cooking. (Perhaps he will become a food critic in Heaven!) All in all, he was a lighthearted man with a great sense of humor.
John is survived by his wife Bridie, his three children Noreen, Mark, and John, and his six grandchildren.
Pedin’s memorial will take place on February 1, 2020 from 11:00 am until 3 pm, with the service beginning at 1:00 pm. It will be held at Givnish Funeral Home of Marlton, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hackensack Meridian Health Hospice in Manahawkin, NJ 08050.
