It is hard for me to express the emotions that I'm experiencing upon learning of John's passing today. We once shared a childhood to adulthood lifetime of great dreams, fun and adventure until the search for careers and pursuits of new adventures separated us by thousands of miles. John, ever the serious one, and I worked together in his early days for Borders Electronics. His knowledge and engineering skill was superb Peg, June and I have never forgotten you and John. We thought of you many times over the years and wondered how everyone was doing. We would occasionally hear from Richie and Annie but even that communication has become distant. We both pursued lives and careers as the years passed that kept us busy and apart from old friends. For that I am so sorry, I wish I had reached out and tried to get in touch with John.. Our prayers are with John and you Peg.
I knew John for about 15 years at RCA/GE/etc. I shared a cubicle with him for the last couple of years he worked for the company. In fact, he retired while we shared that cubicle. I agree with the comments of the other engineers in this list. John was an excellent designer and a great conversationalist. He had lots of stories about his experiences, but he was also a good listener, and provided good advice. I haven't seen him since he retired, but I've thought about him many times over the years.My condolences to Peg and the family. Be assured that John is missed by all of us that knew him.

I just found out about John's passing today. I worked with John at GE in Philadephia as a young engineer. He was a friend and a mentor. I later worked with John at RCA, which became GE, then Martin Marietta and finally Lockheed Martin. He was a great engineer and had a great sense of humor. John was a fine man. I am really glad to have known him. My condolences to the entire family.

I remember John from my early years at RCA, with respect, fondness and much gratitude. I shared a cubicle with him for two years (1983-84) and had a delightful time working for him, and with him. Besides being one of the truly innovative design engineers on staff at the time, John was as smart as a whip, mischievous, funny, and always pleasure to work with. I recall him sharing with me his circuit design techniques and at one point coaching me on the finer points of negotiation as I prepared to purchase my first new auto vehicle. John was a friend, a mentor and significant role model in the formative stage of my career. He was a kind and humble man, a giver in in life and a true gentleman in every sense of the word.John, may you rest in Peace.
John Renz was a great mentor and friend. As a young engineer just starting out at RCA, I could always count on John for guidance with respect, intelligence, and humanity. A good man in every sense.
