I am so very sorry to hear of the passing of my friend, boss and mentor, Joe. He hired me for my first job in September 1982, fired me a week later, no choice, my driving record was horrible. But he rehired me a week later for a different role. From that moment on I had this connection with Joe, he mentored me and shepherded me through the nuances of the working environment, protected me when I needed it and steered me toward a more productive path. His guidance and inspiration helped me these last 35 years in so many ways. I often asked myself, "what would Joe do" and usually whatever answer I came up with was proven right. I will remember Joe always. Recently he has been giving me parenting counsel on Facebook once he saw pictures of my teenage daughter. Again sound advice. Joe, I wish we could take a run over to the hotdog truck on Route 22 for lunch again, will miss you.
