Joseph F. Fala's Obituary
FALA, Joseph F. - 90 It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of a wonderful man. Joe passed peacefully on Tuesday, August 10, 2021. Joseph was born in Camden NJ on January 1, 1931 to the late Louis and Marie (née Brennan) Fala. Raised in Fairview and Collingswood, Joe later moved to Maple Shade where he and his wife built their home and raised their three children. A man of honor, Joe served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Over the years Joe worked in construction as a crane operator for the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 542, to which he joined in 1948. Joe was beyond proud of his Union, and his Union brothers and sisters. Joe was also a past member of the VFW Post 2445.
Joe was a fun loving man who enjoyed a good time with family and friends. Some Of Joe’s passions were taking great care of his yard, bingo, eating (no one enjoyed food more), and dancing, “shake it to ya break it”. Joe loved his family and spending time over big Italian dinners. Joe is dearly missed and forever loved by his family which includes his wife of 66 years, Helen (nee Moffa), his children Helen Bender (late Frank), Joseph (Kathy), and Anthony (Tracey); eight grandchildren , Kristina, Joey, Jaclyn (Matt), Joseph, Anthony, Becca, Michael, and Luke; three great-grandchildren, Jaida , Amelia and Gia and his brother John who resides in Arizona, and nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends, predeceased by his sisters Margaret Siedel, Mary Theresa Kramarski, and his brother Louis.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing on Saturday, August 14th from 9 to 10:45 AM at Givnish Funeral Home in Maple Shade NJ, followed by a church mass at Our Lady of Perpetual Help at 11 AM. Immediately following will be his entombment at Calvary Cemetery in Cherry Hill NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his name at Our Lady of Perpetual Help.
