Joseph J. Ridgway's Obituary
Joseph J. Ridgway, of Cinnaminson, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on March 10, 2023. Born in Philadelphia, PA to the late James and Esther (nee Clark) Ridgway, he was 75 years old.
Joe was the beloved husband of Janet (nee Sgro); loving father of Justin (Sue) and Kevin (Leanna); cherished grandfather of Alex, Jaxson, Cameron, Maddox, Kieran, and Samantha; dear brother of Thomas Ridgway, Regina O’Loughlin, Esther Costantini (Greg), and the late James Ridgway (Pauline) and John Ridgway. Joe is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends who will miss him tremendously.
Joe was happily married to his wife Janet for 45 years plus an additional 3 years of dating. Making the move from Philadelphia to Cinnaminson to create a life and family together. Joe served 29 years of his professional career as a federal probation officer based out of Philadelphia. Upon retirement he then combined his love of golf and gift of gab gaining employment at Riverton Country club. Where he became a staple on the porch and was employed for the past 15 years. In his spare time he loved to fish with his grandchildren and spend time at Sea Isle beach with his loved ones. Joe’s motto was “family first” and made sure to show that everyday of his life making sure everyone knew they were loved in their own special way.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at Givnish of Cinnaminson, 1200 Route 130 North, on Friday evening March 17th from 6 pm to 9 pm, and Saturday morning March 18th from 9 am to 10 am. His funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 am at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 2500 Branch Pike, Cinnaminson. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Joe’s memory may be made to St. Charles Borromeo School.
