Josephine Richardson's Obituary
Josephine Richardson (née Passione), a cherished member of the Riverside, NJ community, peacefully passed away on May 26, 2023, at the age of 93. Born on June 19, 1929, to the late Dominic and Saveria Passione, Josephine lived a remarkable life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories.
Josephine was the beloved wife of John "Jack" Richardson, with whom she shared a remarkable bond for 68 years. She was a loving and devoted mother to her children, Steven M. Richardson (Dolores) and Kimberly D. Evans (Ian). Josephine adored her grandchildren, Steven A. Richardson, Eric W. Evans, and Matthew D. Richardson, and found immeasurable joy in being a great grandmother to Addyson, Andrew, and Katherine. Josephine is survived by her brother, Samuel Passione (late Margaret "Margie"). She will forever be remembered as a pillar of love and strength within her family.
Josephine had an indomitable spirit that endeared her to everyone she met. She possessed a talent for storytelling and had an impressive knowledge of her ancestry, which she eagerly shared with others. A gifted seamstress, she delighted in creating beautiful garments and had an impeccable sense of style, never leaving the house without looking her best. Growing up in an Italian household, she was fluent in Italian and also learned to speak French.
Josephine's love story with her late husband, Jack, began at a soda shop where they met by the jukebox, and their connection lasted a lifetime. A fantastic cook, Josephine inherited her mother's culinary skills and delighted her family and friends with delicious meals. She actively participated in the PTA and held a deep faith as a devout Catholic. Her spirit of giving to family, friends and church was unwavering.
However, above all, Josephine will be remembered for her unwavering love and adoration for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather and pay their respects on Saturday, June 3rd from 9:00am to 10:00am at Givnish of Cinnaminson, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am. Josephine's final resting place will be at St. Peter's Cemetery, located at 865 Bridgeboro Rd., Riverside.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Josephine's St. Judes Children’s Hospital, stjude.org. Josephine's presence will be profoundly missed by her loving family, numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her soul find eternal peace, and her memory live on in the hearts of those she touched.
