Julia Cecelia Ely's Obituary
Julia Cecelia Ely (nee Schroeter) passed away quietly on January 26, 2017 in Cinnaminson, New Jersey. She was the daughter of Hannah & Frank Schroeter of Trenton, New Jersey.
Julia was born on November 21, 1917 in Trenton. She attended Cathedral High School and was employed for a time at General Motors and the Katzenbach School for the Deaf in West Trenton. She primarily dedicated herself to the support of her husband, Richard, and the upbringing of her two sons, Fred and Scott. Her marriage to Richard spanned 62 years. He called her Jewel.
Julia was a very friendly person who formed deep relationships with a diverse group of people. Her 90th birthday party was attended by 25 of these friends in addition to family members.
Julia loved the beaches of the Jersey Shore and dancing to the bands of her era, and good meals with friends. She went everywhere with Richard, a good man to whom she was devoted.
Julia is survived by her son Fred & his partner Jeanne; her son Scott, his wife Susan, their daughters Stacey & Monica, and their grandchildren, Donavin, Nathan, and Brayson; her niece Deborah Ely, her Cousin Richard Shuh and her good friend Charlie.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Julia's life celebration gathering at Givnish of Cinnaminson, 1200 Route 130 N., on Monday, January 30, from 9 - 10 am. Her Memorial Mass will follow at 10:30 am at St. Charles Borromeo Church, Branch Pike and Pomona Rd., Cinnaminson.
