Karen Johnson Calabro's Obituary
Karen Johnson Calabro, 54, of Medford, New Jersey, died peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, April 6, 2025. She is survived by her son, Cameron; her daughter, Clare; her mother, Francese; her sister, Larisa; her niece, Kalyn; and her nephew, Ryan. Karen is also a beloved niece and cousin to her many aunts, uncles and cousins. She is preceded in death by her father, Ronald.
Karen was born December 6, 1970, in Red Bank, New Jersey to Ronald and Francese Johnson (Spring). Karen graduated from Lenape High School (1989), and went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree from Monmouth University (1993). During her time at Monmouth, Karen was actively involved in student life, serving as Vice President of her sorority, Theta Phi Alpha, became a member of the National Broadcasting Society, Alpha Epsilon Rho, and contributed to the WMCX radio station and the Outlook Newspaper. In Karen’s senior year, she interned at Walt Disney World, Orlando, Florida and completed the Walt Disney College Program. After college Karen worked as a commodities sales administrator for Clofine Dairy and Food products.
Known for her amiable wit and vibrant personality, Karen had a true passion for life. She cherished her family and friends and was a true aficionado of theater, movies, and music.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Friday, May 16, 2025, from 10:00 am, to 11:00 am, immediately followed by a funeral Mass at St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church, 40 Jackson Road, Medford, New Jersey.
