Karen Ann Casey's Obituary
Karen Ann Casey (nee Piontek) passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, September 15, 2022. She courageously battled cancer her last 21 months with the most beautiful, optimistic, determined attitude she was always known for.
Loving Daughter of L. Monique Hawk (Piontek) and the late Richard M. Piontek. Treasured Sister of Lorraine Chambers and Amy Piontek. Beloved Aunt of John, Catherine, and the late Jenni-Lynn Chambers. True Sister-in-Law to the Chambers Brothers. A dear, close friend to those that supported her through her illnesses and a wonderful soul to many others.
Born in Camden and raised in Cherry Hill (CHW Class of 89), Karen was 51 years old. With her bachelor’s in law enforcement in 1994, Karen’s career began as a Border Patrol Officer for both the Canadian and Mexican borders. Wanting to settle in Tucson, A.Z., she became employed as a Corrections Officer for Pima Co. Corrections, which she absolutely loved. In 2006, Karen moved back to NJ to be with the family and has lived in Pine Hill ever since.
Karen has always been playfully sarcastic with a twisted sense of humor. She hasn’t changed from her Northwood days. The class clown that was great at hiding her mischief. She enjoyed ATV riding and anything adventurous or exciting… almost to a fault (our poor Mom). Easy to talk to, laid back with a very caring heart. She loved the Phillies, Pink Floyd, classic rock, a cold Miller Lite, playing Euchre (and always winning), laughing and spending time with others. Every morning, her kind-hearted squirrel feedings were abundant and her newly adopted cat-daughter, Pickles, was taking to her perfectly. Karen will be missed beyond words... by more than just us.
Please join us, relatives and friends, in attending Karen’s Graveside Service Friday, September 23rd at Colestown Cemetery, 100 Kings Hwy N, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034. In honor of Karen please wear your Phillies, Pink Floyd or anything that shows your love.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Animal Welfare Association of Voorhees 509 Centennial Blvd, Voorhees Township, NJ 08043
