Karen A. Meenan's Obituary
Karen A. Meenan (née Kelly), age 65, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 31, 2025, at
her home, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with ALS. Born in Philadelphia to Vincent and Nancy Kelly, Karen grew up in Germantown and Olney and was a proud graduate of Cardinal Dougherty High School. Karen and her family resided in Mayfair for 13 years before moving to Marlton, New Jersey in 1998. She was the beloved wife of 39 years to Thomas M. Meenan, a devoted mother to Kelli (Kevin) McGinley and Thomas V. (Sarah) Meenan, and a cherished Mom-Mom to her grandchildren, Mason and Quinn. She is also survived by her dear brothers, Vincent (Janie) Kelly, Thomas (Peg) Kelly, and Timothy (Jeannie) Kelly, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who she held so close to her heart. Karen dedicated 42 years of her career as an expanded functions dental assistant at Dr. John Takach's Dental Office in Philadelphia. Her coworkers and patients became more like family over the many years spent together. She was someone everyone around her knew they could rely on whenever they needed her. Karen loved spending her summers down the shore in Wildwood with her family and friends. You could find her at beach yoga, enjoying beach days with her grandkids, walking the sea wall, and taking in sunsets from the deck of her home with her family. Karen loved family parties and dancing anywhere at any time. She truly found joy in the simple moments spent with the people she loved. Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Givnish of Cinnaminson, 1200 Route 130 North. A second visitation will be held on Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at St. Isaac Jogues Church, 349 Evesham-Medford Road, Marlton, NJ 08053, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial.
