Kate Cunningham's Obituary
Mary Kathleen “Kate” Cunningham, visual artist, singer-songwriter and yoga teacher, died at her home in Riverton on December 2, 2017 after a long struggle with cancer. She was 67.
A self-made woman, Kate lived life with boundless energy, intellectual curiosity and irrepressible humor. Whether on stage or at a dinner party she lit up any room and was renowned among friends for her lively conversation, her attentive listening and her capacity to make others laugh.
She was the daughter of Rose McDonald Cunningham and Joseph A. Cunningham of Moorestown, where she attended Our Lady of Good Counsel parish school. She was a graduate of Holy Cross High School in Delran, attended New Rochelle College and graduated from Boston University with a degree in English.
She is survived by her husband, Michael V. Zarrello with whom she lived in Jamestown, TN, and her brothers, Joseph A., Thomas J., Paul D. of Moorestown and J. Cletus Cunningham of Riverton, NJ., as well as her niece, Kelly, and nephews, Kyle, Conner and Evan Cunningham, her sister-in-law Suzanne McDermott Cunningham and her former sister in law Patricia Mecca.
Losing Kate has not been easy, but the memory of her joyous spirit helps to ease the sorrow of her passing. Rest in peace, Kate.
Relatives and friends are invited to Kate’s Life Celebration Saturday, December 9th starting 9:30AM at the Church of the Sacred Heart, 4th and Linden Sts., Riverton NJ followed by her funeral Mass 11:00AM
