Kathleen M. Cummings' Obituary
Kathleen M. Cummings (née Walsh) passed away peacefully after an extended illness on Sunday, January 15, 2023. Born in Philadelphia to John J. and Ruth E. (née Frith) Walsh, Kathy was 73 years old. She was a resident of Moorestown and formerly of Philadelphia.
Kathy was the beloved wife of 49 years to Robert P. Cummings and the loving mother of RJ (Jennifer Baiada) Cummings. Dear sister of Robert Walsh, Denise (Thomas) Mylett and the late Ruth Ann (Joseph) Donnelly and sister-in-law of John F. (Kathleen) Cummings Jr. and the late Karen (Stanley) Cieslik. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and close family friends.
Kathy was a graduate from Holy Angels grade school in the East Oak Lane section of Philadelphia and a 1967 graduate from Cardinal Dougherty High School also in Philadelphia.
She was a teacher’s aide for many years in the kindergarten class at Our Lady of Good Counsel School in Moorestown and enjoyed watching all of her students grow in skills from the start of the school year to the end.
Kathy spent her summers vacationing in Avalon where she enjoyed the beach, sunsets and her tanqueray martinis. She enjoyed going to the casinos and was very lucky. Growing up she was a exceptional athlete and excelled in sports. People would remark how generous Kathy was and she always had great stories to tell. Kathy loved spending time with her family.
A gathering of family and friends will be held this Friday, January 20th from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church 42 W. Main Street Moorestown. Her Memorial Mass will follow at 11 a.m.
