Kevin C. McDevitt's Obituary
Kevin C. McDevitt passed away unexpectedly on January 16, 2022 in Los Angeles, CA. Born in Philadelphia to Daniel and Michelle McDevitt, Kevin was 31 years old. He was a resident of Los Angeles for the last 3 years and formerly lived in Cinnaminson, NJ. He was a 2009 graduate from Cinnaminson High School and received his bachelor’s degree from West Chester University. Kevin played both lacrosse and football at these two schools.
Kevin was employed as a sales manager for Discover Labs LLC. In addition, he donated much of his time to coaching, mentoring and teaching young adults. He volunteered at many organizations, including the William Penn Charter School’s lacrosse program, the Delaware Valley Friends School, Philly’s Finest Lacrosse Camp, and The Sun Never Sets program in Los Angeles.
He enjoyed coaching, teaching, exercising, watching sports and being with his family and friends. Kevin especially loved planning events and group exercises; he was always the centerpiece of the action. He was a natural born leader who embraced the responsibility. He cared very deeply for others and spent his life improving the lives of everyone around him. He had a contagious spirit that brightened every room and made people feel special and loved.
Cherished son of Daniel and Michelle McDevitt; brother of Daniel A. (Jessica) McDevitt, Anthony E. (Alexandra) McDevitt and Christine M. (Brandon) Friday. Loving uncle of Madalynne, Layla and Coral McDevitt; Shea, Charlotte and Anthony W. McDevitt; Margaret, Abigail and Brandon (Jr.) Friday.
Also surviving are Grandparents, Rosemarie and Robert Reinhart and Edward and Margaret (deceased) McDevitt. Beloved nephew of Denise and Joe Smith, Ed McDevitt, Tricia McDevitt, and Liz and Patrick (Deceased) Keenan. Also survived by many cousins who loved him dearly.
A gathering of family and friends will be held this Tuesday, January 25th, from 6pm-8pm at Givnish of Cinnaminson, NJ, 1200 Route 130 North.
A second gathering of family and friends will be held Wednesday, January 26th, from 10am-11am at Our Lady of Calvary Church, 11024 Knights Road, Philadelphia, PA. His Memorial Mass will follow at the church at 11am.
After services please join the family for a luncheon from 1pm-3pm, location to be announced at the church.
Inurnment will be held privately at Lakeview Memorial Park in Cinnaminson.
