Kevin B. Rooney's Obituary
Kevin B. Rooney, Sr., of Cinnaminson passed away Friday, August 14, 2015 at home surrounded by his family following a brief illness. Kevin was born on March 31, 1934 to Gerald A. & Rose Rooney (nee Kuenzel). Kevin is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Johanna M. (nee Ross). Loving father of Kevin B. Jr. (Pat, deceased), Johanna A. Betz (Robert), Edward F. (Mary Ellen), Maureen S. Remetta (John), Patricia A. Manhard (Greg), John P. (Valerie), Philip A. (Tracy). Grandfather of Devon, Dawn, Erin, Jessica, Rob, Kevin III, Tyler, Mark, Caitlin, Brenda, Andrew, Megan, Brandon, Philip, Shane, Gregory, John, and Aubrey. Great Grandfather of Sydney, Brendon, Theodore, Jovianne and Leland. Brother of Betty Lou Crockett, Michael, Francis, Bernard, Rosemary Kaprowicz, Margaret Ann Verbilla and the late Gerald, Hugh, Joseph, Robert, Daniel, and Terence.
Kevin was a retired Safety Manager for the Department of the Army at Walson Army Hospital, Fort Dix. Kevin was a city kid from Bridesburg who loved for caring for his lawn and gardens. He also enjoyed singing in the Pine Barons Barbershop Chorus, traveling the country with friends on his Gold Wing motorcycle, playing golf with his sons and grandsons and touring the world with his wife Ducky.
At this time, services are not planned. In lieu of flowers our family encourages donations be made to Samaritan Hospice, 5 Eves Drive, Marlton, NJ 08053, to allow their organization to continue their exceptional and compassionate palliative care services.
Kevin’s wish was for friends to join the family for an Irish Wake at the Riverton Porch Club at 213 Howard Street, Riverton, NJ 08077, on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 from 4 to 8 p.m. Please stop by to enjoy a pint on Kevin to toast and celebrate his life.
