Kim Dorety's Obituary
On the morning of Tuesday, February 4, 2020, Kimberly Ann Tippin-Dorety, loving wife and mother, passed away peacefully at the age of 52. Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, Kim enjoyed her childhood with her parents, Anna M. (Kealey) and the late Robert Tippin, and siblings Kelly Ghegan (Patrick Ghegan Jr.) and Bobby Tippin (Stacy Ghegan). Kim came from a large Irish family with a vast extended family of nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she kept close to her heart. From a young age it was clear that Kim was a free spirit, but she only ventured a few houses down the street to find the love of her life, Tim Dorety. Friends for over 48 years and married in 1989, they moved together to Edgewater Park, NJ where they raised their two children, Timothy Jr. and Shannon. Kim began her career working in customer service for SEPTA before becoming part of the Delran Police Department family for the last 23 years of her career. Watching her children play on the baseball / softball field and perform on the concert stage were her favorite pastimes. Kim loved to travel with her family and friends and to volunteer her time to help those in need.
We will remember Kim’s infectious smile that brightened every room she entered, her warm and witty remarks that brought laughter to each conversation, her love of life, family, and friends. Her boundless love and generosity of spirit has been felt by all who have been blessed to know her. She worked very hard all her life, up until the very end. She made a difference in the lives of many and we invite you to join us in celebration of her beautiful life. A gathering of family and friends will be taking place on Saturday, February 15th at Givnish Funeral Home of Cinnaminson between 9:00am and 12:00pm with a memorial service to follow at 12:00pm.
