Laurie T. Clauss' Obituary
Laurie T. Clauss (nee Tait) passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, March 6, 2024. Born in Woodbury, NJ to Thomas and Doris Tait (nee Raney), Laurie was 73 years old. She was a resident of Delran, NJ since 1972 and formerly lived in Stratford, NJ.
Beloved wife of 52 years to Edmund A Clauss Jr. Loving mother of Ed Clauss III, Dianna Clauss and Linda Clauss (Bellamy Ford). Cherished grandmother of Emily (16), Hailey (13), and Charlotte (3).
Sister of Gale Lewin, Linda Mazziotta (Dan), Betty Ann Cullen (Don), and Thomas Tait (Cynthia).
Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, and very close friends.
Laurie was devoted to her church, Delran United Methodist Church, where she was very active, having served as a Sunday School Teacher, Vacation Bible School Teacher, and member of the church prayer chain. Those who knew Laurie knew of her love for her flower garden, a garden she planned and cultivated over the past 50 years and plays home to over 15+ species of flowers. Laurie also enjoyed fishing on the “Laurie T” with Ed, late nights with the family dog Skippy, bird watching and partaking in the Burlington County park system nature walks, and gathering with her siblings and forever friends regularly for tea and trips to Ocean City. Mom-mom was very proud of her grandchildren and her love for her family and friends was infinite. Diagnosed with scleroderma over 30 years ago, Laurie was steadfast in her faith, and efforts to manage and live with the chronic disease one day, week, month, and year at a time.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Monday, March 11t from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Givnish of Cinnaminson 1200 Route 130 North, and on Tuesday, March 12t from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Delran United Methodist Church 32 Conrow Road, Delran, NJ 08075. Laurie’s Funeral Service will begin at 11 a.m. at the church to be followed by a private burial at Brigadier General William C. Doyle NJ Veteran’s Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, and if so desired, memorial contributions in Laurie’s name may be made to the Delran United Methodist Church or the National Scleroderma Foundation – Mid Atlantic Chapter.
