Lawrence J. Pleis Jr.'s Obituary
Lawrence J. Pleis, Jr passed away peacefully on December 22, 2015 surrounded by his children. Larry was 78 years old, and born in Philadelphia. He was a resident of Maple Shade for 37 years, and formerly of Philadelphia. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Reserve. Larry was employed as an electrician for 40 years, and retired from Whitesell Construction. An avid Philly sports fan, he enjoyed fishing, watching western movies, and spending time with his family. He was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus with the Monsignor Fenton Fitzpatrick Council #4170. Beloved husband of the late Jacqueline A. (nee Davis), and loving father of Lawrence J. III (Joan), John (Michele), Brian (Debra), Kimberly (Michael) Grace, Carolyn Rumell and James (Dina) Pleis. Grandfather of Jillian, Brian Jr, Larry IV, Sean, Michael Jr, Sarah, Daniel, Liam, Angela, Adia, John Jr, Taryn, Angelina, Nicholas and Ryan. Great grandfather of Haley, Tyler and Jacqueline. Brother of Ronald and Frederick Pleis. Larry is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Larry's Life Celebration and viewing Wednesday, December 30th, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Inglesby/Givnish of Maple Shade 600 East Main Street. His Funeral Mass will follow at 12 p.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Maple Shade. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Retirement Villa, 110 W. Wissahickon Ave, Flourtown, PA 19031 and/or the Wounded Warrior Project 4899 Belfort Rd., Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256.
