Leroy A. Browne's Obituary
Leroy A. Browne, age 78, passed away Monday evening, February 10, 2025, in Willingboro, NJ. He was attended to by his wife, Lorraine Browne, and his daughter, Stacey Smith.
Affectionately known as “Keith,” he was born in Old Road, Antigua, West Indies to the late Clarence and Amanda Browne (née Bowers), and was one of eleven siblings.
Keith was the devoted husband of Lorraine Browne. Their companionship spanned over 50 years, during which time they celebrated many cherished moments with their family. Keith had a special bond with his daughter, Stacey Smith and he loved his grandchildren, Anaiya and Zayne, immensely. Keith would do, and did, anything and everything for his family.
Keith was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army due to a visual impairment that eventually led to blindness. While still able, he worked tirelessly to build a successful life. He earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Jersey City State College and held numerous jobs to support his family. Keith was known for his intelligence, generosity, and dedication to those he loved.
In his younger years, he was athletic and full of energy. He had a passion for writing short stories, singing (especially Elvis and country songs), and watching old movies with his wife. An avid sports fan, he especially loved baseball. Keith was handy with electrical work and carpentry, and enjoyed working on his home. He also found joy in cooking traditional Antiguan dishes, including ducana and saltfish, sharing his heritage through food. Despite the challenges of his illness, he remained a devoted husband, loving father, and playful grandfather, always joking and smiling.
He is survived by his wife, Lorraine Browne (née Wroblewski); daughter, Stacey Smith (David); two grandchildren, Anaiya and Zayne Smith; nine siblings; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, other family, and friends.
Keith was loved dearly and will be missed by his family, including his grandchildren, who affectionately called him “Pop Pop.”
Services will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Givnish Funeral Home Cinnaminson, 1200 Route 130 North, Cinnaminson, New Jersey. Visitation will take place from 9:00–10:00 AM, followed by a service at 10:00 AM. Entombment with military honors will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park, Mausoleum of the Apostles, 1300 Route 130 North, Cinnaminson, New Jersey.
