Louis David “Dave” Barta, of Riverside, NJ, passed away suddenly on October 25, 2023. Dave was born in Riverside and was a lifelong resident of the town. At the time of his passing, he was 76 years old. Dave is predeceased by his Read Obituary
Dave and I grew up together. From the 4th grade through high school. We played baseball, football basketball along with the other kids know as the avenue gang. There was Bentfiff. Errickson. Ermish Urwiler. Jones, Olive, Comardo, Vesaki, Marston. There were others, to many to name. From 2nd street to 3rd and Delaware to Rancocas Ave we were a group to behold. We played all the sports in season and even made some up.
Dave would love to come by when I would tell him my mom was baking. He loved her cream puffs and would down the five she set aside just for him in no I went with Dave to my first basketball game when I was in the 4th grade in the old gym. He got me to play little league. We played all the sports but were never on a team together. We use to go to the gym every Sat morning for Pop Vernon's basketball clinic.
Farewell my best and true friend. We will meet again on the Field of Dreams.
