Louis E. McConnell, 75, passed away on June 11, 2022, with his family by his side. Loving husband to Cheryl L. McConnell (nee Kennedy) for 33 years. Dear father to Andrea Miller (Nick), Jessica McConnell (Anthony), Jennifer Magallanes (Jerry), Denise Ernst, Patrick Mcleester, and Deborah Skoczalek. Devoted grandfather to Brody, Brayden, Olivia, RJ, Gary, Steve, Chris, Alexis, Paige, Bruce, Kayla, and Pup Drake. Great grandfather to four. Loving brother to David McConnell (Maryann). Proud uncle to Dawn and Kathleen. Adored son-in-law of Jim & Alice Kennedy. Brother in-law to Jim Kennedy (Noel). Best friend to Charlie Lane (Rochelle).
After attending Camden High School, Louis joined the US Navy and honorably served from 1963 to 1969. Later, he became the Distribution Supervisor for Simon & Schuster book publishing company.
Lou’s burial and military honors will take place in an intimate ceremony at Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Vietnam Vets of America, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, or The River Sisters Dragon Boat Team. His Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, June 23rd at Givnish of Cinnaminson, 1200 Route 130 North from 10-11am with his memorial service following at 11:00am with a luncheon to follow.
