Louis Daniel Seymour's Obituary
Louis Daniel Seymour (Dan) 90, former longtime resident of Cinnaminson, NJ, passed away suddenly on September 15, 2022.
Born on November 26, 1931, to John and Louise Seymour in Trois Riveires, Quebec, Canada he was raised as an only child. A young sister passed before he was born. Dan and his mother moved to Fall River, MA in 1945 after his father passed. A French Canadian, Dan learned to speak English after arriving in the states.
Dan entered the US Army during the Korean conflict and was stationed at Fort Dix, NJ, which was when he met the love of his life, Margaret T. Huml. They were married from September 1955 until his passing, about a week short of 67 years of marriage.
He was the proud father of Paul M Seymour (Jennifer), Margaret M. Ehmer, and John R, Seymour (Dawn); Much loved Poppop to Elizabeth Duchene (Ryan), Kenneth Ehmer, Jessica L. Brockway (TJ), Katherine L. Seymour and Victoria L. Seymour. Proud Great grandfather to Wyatt J. Brockway and Zoey R. Brockway.
Dan was a proud LaSalle College graduate, working his way through night school to earn his bachelor’s degree. He spent most of his working life as a System’s Analyst for ITT-Nesbitt, Philco-Ford, and Singer-American Meter, all in Philadelphia.
He was involved in the community serving the American Legion proudly and volunteering at McGuire Air Force Base with his wife Peggy, for many years. He was also involved in his housing community serving in several capacities on their board. Dan and Peggy also volunteered at the St. Charles carnival for many years.
Dan was an avid sports fan starting with his children’s sports, swimming at Pheasant Run Swim Club, and PAL soccer, basketball, and baseball. He coached many Cinnaminson players in all the PAL leagues and was served on the PAL board. He was a Philly sports fan, cheering on the Phils, Flyers, Sixers, and Eagles.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, April 27th from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Givnish of Cinnaminson 1200 Route 130 North. Peggy and Dan’s Memorial Service will begin at 7 p.m.
