Louis H. Wells' Obituary
Louis “Lou” H. Wells, a lifelong resident of Maple Shade, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2017. Born on December 17, 1935, he was 82 years old.
Lou graduated from Moorestown High School in 1954. He went on to graduate from the Burlington County Police Academy in 1969 and retired as a Lieutenant of the Maple Shade Police Department after over 30 years of service. He also enjoyed many years of driving the bus for Maple Shade High School sports teams, served on many township boards, and volunteered his time to benefit others. As a fixture in the Maple Shade community, his positive impact will leave a lasting legacy.
Lou was the beloved husband of the late Rosemarie C. Wells (nee Monte). Loving dad to Teresa “Terry” Uetz and her husband Wade, and Christine “Crissy” Pyfer and her husband Andy. Dear Pop Pop of Brandon and Madelyn Uetz, and Fiona, Julia, Alexa, and Declan Pyfer. Loving brother of David Wells.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Lou’s life celebration gathering at Givnish of Maple Shade, 600 E. Main St., on Wednesday evening from 5 pm – 9 pm, and on Thursday morning from 9 am – 10:15 am. His funeral Mass will follow at 11 am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 236 E. Main St., Maple Shade. Interment in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Moorestown. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Maple Shade Policeman’s Benevolent Association, Local 267, in Memory of Lou Wells, 200 Stiles Avenue, Maple Shade, NJ 08052.
