In Madeline’s words, the happiest time of her life was when her children were young, but that happiness doubled when the grandchildren arrived. Summers were her favorite, as her home became alive with the sounds of activity and laughter from her grandchildren. She truly hoped that she “made more people laugh than cry” in her lifetime.
