Madison Marie Harris' Obituary
Madison (Maddie) Marie Harris passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at home with her family by her side. She was 13 years old and courageously battled brain cancer for the last 5 years.
Born in Willingboro, she was a lifelong resident of Cinnaminson and an 8th grade student at Cinnaminson Middle School. Maddie is the loving daughter of Dan and Cindy Harris, sister of Tyler, granddaughter of Doris and David Ahrens, and Immaculate and Terry Harris. Maddie is also survived by her aunt and uncle Liz and Dave Ahrens Jr. and her cousin Matthew.
Maddie had a passion to be on stage, whether it was dance or theatre. She was a member of the Edge Dance Center (Lumberton and Cinnaminson) where she excelled in the art of tap dance. Maddie was also a mentor to up and coming dance students within the program. She also continued her love of performing as a member of the Burlington County Footlighters where she graced the stage during numerous performances including Bye Bye Birdie, Willy Wonka, The Sound of Music, and Moana Jr.
When not on stage, Maddie loved spending time with her family, especially her rescue dog Benji. Benji immediately gravitated to Maddie and the two were an inseparable pair. Maddie was also never without her Froggy Pillow and Chippy. She had a love for travel that took her to Paris, Germany, Hawaii, California, Disney World, as well as the beach. Maddie was very artistic and loved to draw, paint and enjoyed doing the daily Wordle. She was also a huge fan of the Philadelphia Union soccer club. The organization proudly adopted her as a member of the Fearless 43, which raises awareness to recognize that 43 children each day are diagnosed with cancer. She quickly formed a bond with players and coaches.
Although her time here on earth was limited, Maddie touched so many people, even those she never met. Her smile could light up a room and her laughter was contagious. To know her was to love her.
A celebration of Maddie’s life will be held on Monday, December 5th from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and Tuesday, December 6th from 10:00 am to 11:30 am at Sacred Heart Church, 103 4th Street, Riverton, NJ. Funeral service will follow at 11:30 am, with the burial to take place at Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson, NJ.
