Margaret Baptiste's Obituary
Margaret Baptiste, of Philadelphia PA, formerly of Brooklyn NY, went to be with her Lord on March 15, 2019.
Margaret, who was affectionately known as “Magga” or “Maggie” was born to Augustin and Corine (Primtemps) Baptiste on June 4, 1954 in Port-au-Prince, the capital of Haiti. She was 64 years old.
Margaret was a master seamstress and took much joy in sewing and tailoring clothing for her four children when they were young. She worked many years in the textile industry and spent her latter years working in the healthcare field.
Margaret was a woman of strong faith and committed her life to honoring God. Beginning at an early age, she faithfully served in her local church while living in Haiti. As she grew in faith, Margaret instilled the qualities of a “servant’s heart” within her children. She lived her life by example- selfless, dedicated, caring, compassionate, loyal and loving are only a few words that described her.
Because of her faith, Margaret defied many odds and overcame many obstacles. Her faith remained strong up until the day she went to sleep in the Lord. Margaret was a “giant” in her faith and her legacy will continue to live on for many generations.
Margaret was the beloved mother of Marie-Danielle Baptiste, Nicole Baptiste, Michael Delasse and his wife Shamara, and Mavin Baptiste. Dear grandmother of Imani Cooper, Xiomara Hill, Makari Baptiste, Xioni Delasse, and Xicahel Delasse. Sister of Anite Baptiste, Immacula Baptiste, Gladys Norzea, Ghisleine Baptiste, and Yves Baptiste. Loving aunt of Ricardo Charlemagne, Mirleine Charlemagne, Marcus Baptiste and Darlie Roland. She is predeceased by her 2 brothers, Wilfred Baptiste and Justin Baptiste.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at Impacting Your World Christian Center, 2901 Chapel Avenue West, Cherry Hill, NJ, on Friday March 22nd from 10 am – 12 pm. Service will begin at 12 pm, followed by interment at Lakeview Memorial Park, Route 130 N. in Cinnaminson, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations in Margaret’s memory may be made to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition, www.ovarian.org/donate/ways-to-give
