Margaret V. Campbell's Obituary
Margaret Veronica Campbell, 91, of Cinnaminson, N.J., passed away peacefully on November 21, 2024. She was born on July 13, 1933, to William and Madeleine Gavin of Darby, Pa. Margaret was preceded in death by the love of her life, her loving husband, John G. “Jerry” Campbell, who died in 1978.
A devoted mother, Margaret leaves behind her five cherished children: John Campbell (Cynthia), Kathy Becker (Hank), Michael Campbell (Bonnie), Maureen Vennell (Don), and Colleen Pascal (Dan). She was a loving grandmother to Sara (Frank), Jeremy, Noelle (Mark), Tom (Jolene), Matt, Michael (Samantha), Bernadette (Matt), Joseph (Maureen), Nicolas (Rozanna), Teresa (Max), Daniel, Timothy, Veronica, Jaime (Dustin), Kate (John), Shannon (Bill), Christian and Ben. She was also a proud great-grandmother to Jane, Nolan, Catherine, Maeve, Nathan, Henry, Kiera, Sunny, Tala, Maria, Dustin, Luke, Oliver, Nicolette and Lexi.
Margaret was a cherished sister to Francis “Franny” Gavin (Dolores) and Catherine Schwakoff (Jack), and she was Aunt Margaret to 14 nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by her cousin, Sister Pat Hughes, IHM, and by many other friends and relatives.
Margaret was a longtime resident of Cinnaminson, where the family moved in 1969 after more than a decade in Ridley Park, Pa. She was a 1952 graduate of West Catholic High School in Philadelphia and later earned an associate's degree at Burlington County College.
Before retiring, she worked in the Lumberton dental office of Dr. Kenneth Donaldson. Earlier, she worked in Evesham for Dr. Fred Van Istendal. After high school, she worked for Bell Telephone in Pennsylvania.
Her Catholic faith was central to her life and a source of great pride. She served as a Eucharistic minister to the sick, as a daily participant in the St. Peter’s Senior Ministry, in the Altar and Rosary Society, and as a treasurer for organizations in several parishes.
Above all, Margaret valued her family, always putting their needs before her own and extending her care to friends and loved ones. Those who knew her will fondly remember her fun-loving, witty nature, her joyful spirit and her ability to embrace life to the fullest.
A gathering of friends and family will be held on Tuesday, December 3rd from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., and again the next morning, Wednesday, December 4th from 8 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. at Givnish of Cinnaminson, 1200 Route 130 North. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 43 W. Burial will follow at Jesus Bread of Life Cemetery in Mount Laurel.
