Margaret T. Conlow's Obituary
Margaret “Margie” Theresa Conlow (nee Smyth), of Medford, NJ, died peacefully on March 30, 2021. She was 93. Born in Philadelphia to Edward and Josephine Smyth (nee Kiernan), immigrants from County Cavan, Ireland, Margie grew up in East Oak Lane and attended Little Flower High School. Her father Ed, drove a Trolley on Torresdale Avenue for many years; Josephine was a dedicated private duty nurse. In 1949, Margie married her husband John “Jack” M. Conlow, Sr., of Palmyra, NJ. Jack and Margie were married for 58 years and with much love, raised their family in Palmyra and Riverton. Grommy, as she was affectionately known, with her translucent blue eyes and red hair, was extremely proud of her Irish heritage. Her children fondly remember her singing Irish ballads, such as “Danny Boy”, while she washed dishes or prepared meals for the family. She was a passionate and competitive duplicate bridge player who spent many enjoyable afternoons at the South Jersey Bridge Club with fellow players and friends. She is predeceased by her husband Jack and sister, Josephine Frain. She is survived by her beloved sister, Mary Bauer of White Bear Lake, MN and children, John (Mary Noland) of Philadelphia, Paul, (Lisa Knell) of Moorestown, Edward (Mary) of Portland, OR, Margaret Conlow-Morgan of Shamong, James (Eileen) of Mt. Laurel, and Catherine (John Webber) of Bangor, ME. She was a devoted Grommy to her 11 Grandchildren, Mike (Kristen Titus) of Washington, DC, William (Sara Rosenstein) of Collingswood, Owen, (Abby Childs) of Milford, PA, Kate (Danny Khalastchi) of Iowa City, IA, Steven (Alba Basurto) of Portland, OR, Patrick Morgan (Lacey) of Mays Landing, Raymond Morgan of Shamong, Mary Morgan of Vero Beach, FL, John Conlow of Mt. Laurel, Anna Webber of Bangor, ME, and Daniel Webber of Bangor, ME. Also survived by 5 great grandchildren and several nieces. The family would like to thank the dedicated staff of Medford Leas for their kind and compassionate care. Funeral Mass and Internment will be private.
