Margaret Catherine Hefler's Obituary
Margaret Catherine Hefler, 99, died peacefully at her home at Brandywine Living in Moorestown, N.J. on Thursday, Nov. 4, 2021, with family at her bedside.
Margaret was born in Philadelphia to Magdalena and Stephen Krumenacker, the youngest of 10 children. She and her late husband, Rudolph Hefler, moved to New Jersey where they established and ran Rudy's Tailor Shop in Moorestown for many years while raising a family.
Margaret is survived by five daughters, Arlene Griscom, Janet Cicchini, Joanne Aulicino, Marie Beyer and Margaret Brossy. She had 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Margaret was well-known for her beautiful kind heart, her happy smile, her friendliness and her sense of humor. She was a gentle soul who went out of her way to help people and was a good listener who was always ready with warm words of encouragement and her very special pearls of wisdom. She also was a good story-teller and relished telling others about her life experiences and her family and sharing her many opinions.
Up until the last couple of years she enjoyed taking daily mile-long walks through the downtown, stopping to chat with store-keepers, clerks, and passers-by. She was a fixture in the community and spread her good-will wherever she went. She read the newspaper from front to back each day and loved to garden and take care of her yard. She loved having family over and would make big home-made dinners on holidays and keep the gatherings lively. She also loved to do a little dance whenever she felt happy.
She will be greatly missed. A gathering of friends and family will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to to Philabundance, a Feeding America member in Philadelphia.
