I knew Margie all of my life. We grew up together on Fairhill St. in Olney, Philadelphia when she was Margie Reed. She was a few years older than Sue McErlean and I and the first one of us to have access to a car, so we all went to drive in movies, swimming pools, the bowling ally and never forget “Greenwood Dairy “. Margie went with me when I passed my driving exam when I was 16! Then she started dating Joe and the friendship shifted a bit. I was a bridesmaid in their wedding and honored to be young Margie’s godmother. I watched her as a young mother, then doting grandmother and saw her happiness revolve around her enlarging family.
When I moved to Boston we saw less of each other but our meetings then occurred in our “happy place”, Wildwood, NJ. I have lots of restaurant photos with the McErlean’s, the McCaffrey’s and sometimes lots of extended family members at our annual dinners there.
I’ve lost a dear friend and I mourn with her entire family, RIP, Margie.
