Marie V. Eichhorn's Obituary
Marie V. Eichhorn (nee Fitzpatrick) passed away peacefully on December 25, 2014 at her home in Delanco surrounded by her loving family. Born in Philadelphia to Joseph and Mildred (nee Ward) Fitzpatrick. She was 77 years old.
Beloved wife of 57 years to Gerald J. Eichhorn. Loving mother of Gerald T. (Lynn), Donna M. McCool (Chris), Daniel R. (Kim), the late Richard J. (Aimee), Susan M. DeMarco (Jim), and Karen Krankowski (Ed).
Devoted grandmother of Kelly, Christopher, Michael, Evan, Tommy, Kiera, Melanie, Eddie, Zachary, Nolan, Jameson, Allison, Jacqueline, Dylan, Flynn, Ryan, Connor, Meggie and Sean.
Sister of the late Mildred Flynn, the late Eileen Deal and the late Joseph Fitzpatrick.
Marie courageously battled lung cancer for 17 years and continued to live a full, positive life.
Marie, along with her husband Jerry, were founding members of The Church of the Holy Name in Delran. She was a resident of Delran from 1967 to 2001 where she and Jerry were a part of the Dinner Club that shared many gourmet meals and lasting memories together.
Marie then moved to Newton's Landing in Delanco where she found herself doing what she loved best, organizing social events for the community.
Summers were filled with laughter at the Eichhorn beach house in Sea Isle City. It was a special retreat for all of the grandchildren where she cherished every moment from playing board games, barbequing on the patio, to jumping through the ocean waves while holding tightly to her grandchildren’s hands.. She absolutely adored her large family and dedicated her life to making everyone feel special and comfortable in her home.
Marie will be remembered by her family and friends as a gentle, loving woman who cared unconditionally and gave without question. She possessed a contagious smile that lit up a room. Marie had an extraordinary sense of humor and quick wit. Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and generous demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many. Wherever she went, she left a lasting impression. She was a beautiful person in every way and will be greatly missed by the many lives that she touched.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Marie's Life Celebration and viewing Monday Eve 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Snover/Givnish of Cinnaminson 1200 Route 130 North.
Her Funeral Mass will follow 11 a.m. at The Resurrection Parish, Church of the Holy Name 260 Conrow Road, Delran.
Entombment will follow at Lakeview Mausoleum, Cinnaminson, NJ.
