Marie D Tatu's Obituary
Marie Dolores Tatu (Cox), 99, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2023. Marie was a long-term resident of Palmyra, NJ, living in her home for more than 70 years. Loving wife to the late William Joseph Tatu. Dear mother to Eileen Hughes (Bill), Patricia Carey (Ray), Sharon Sparacio, Kathleen Bell (Jim), Denise Smith (Ken), and the late Colleen Tatu. Grandmother to Nicole, Stephen, Scott, Brian, Lance, Danielle, Peter, Nathan, Jordan, Melissa, Victoria, Kendal and Keely-Shea, as well as 22 great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her caregiver and dear friend Darlene.
Marie and Bill wed in 1945, and their marriage continued for 54 years until his death in 1999. Besides raising six daughters, Marie enjoyed gardening and relaxing at the beach. Earlier years were spent in Wildwood and summers soon followed on their houseboat in Cape May. She and Bill loved ballroom dancing and traveling with friends. In her later years, Marie loved her coloring books, playing cards, and spending time with family. As a member of Sacred Heart Church in Riverton, Marie’s faith was very important to her throughout her life. Most of all, Marie will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
A gathering of friends and family will be held on Thursday, March 9, at Givnish Funeral Home of Cinnaminson, 1200 Route 130 North, from 9:30-11:00 AM. A funeral mass will follow at Sacred Heart Church in Riverton, starting at 11:30 AM. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park in Cinnaminson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marie’s name to Sacred Heart Church in Riverton, NJ.
