Maritsa "Mari" Torres' Obituary
Maritsa “Mari” Torres” of Burlington, was called to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 4, 2019 to complete her mission in spirit. Her light shined for a short time to our understanding but her journey in Christ has just begun. Just as she shined her light in every room she walked in her love will be everlasting. Mari will be remembered as spirited, supportive, energetic, motivating, and most importantly, dedicated to God.
The beautiful soul of Maritsa “Mari” Torres was born on December 14, 1968 in Newark, New Jersey. Maritsa relocated to South Jersey when she was 13 years old and soon after, her life began to flourish. She attended Pemberton Township High School and made many friends. She was so proud to be a part of the Cheerleading Team and Marching Units. Maritsa was employed for 25 years at Comcast as a Customer Experience Executive where she assisted and provided technological entertainment services to many people. Here she excelled among her peers, gaining company wide recognition for her exceptional verbal communication and genuine connection to her consumers. (“That girl sell a package!”)
Maritsa gave birth to three beautiful girls named Jessica Esther Lynn, Melina Rose and JeLisa Maritsa Adrianna and also a son, the late, Carlos Angel. She has left behind the legacy of spending constant long afternoons and weekends with her grandkids, feeding the ducks at the water, caring for the homeless, encouraging others and being a strong shoulder to lean on in a time of need. All you had to do is call and she was preaching The Word to your spirit, making sure you left her better than you came. She was a force, the kindest, most giving, and God-fearing woman all of us knew. She left a trail of compassion that echoes in the hearts and spirits of everyone. What she did her in life will echo through eternity.
Maritsa was the beloved daughter of Nilda (Serrano) and Ramon Jordan. Cherished mother of Jessica Cochran, Melina Cochran (Samuel), JeLisa Torres, and the late Carlos Torres. Adoring grandmother of Isaiah Cochran, Mya Burwell, Azera Akdemir, Elias Anderson. Loving sister of Janet Torres White (Charles), Michelle Thomas (Theo), and Anita Nieman (Dan). Dear aunt of Vanessa Rivera, Brian Maine, Christian Torres, Ryan White, Zach White, Michael Thomas, Alicea Thomas, Jessenya Rivera, Julissa Jones, and Joelli Maine. Loved dearly as a daughter, Imani Cochran. Mari is also survived by many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a gathering at Givnish of Cinnaminson, 1200 Route 130 N., on Saturday, July 13th, from 10 am to 12:30 pm. A service will begin at 12:30 pm, followed by interment in Lakeview Memorial Park, Route 130 N., Cinnaminson.
